You, the consignor, warrants that you are the sole owner of the article(s) being offered to Consignment Furniture and that the article(s) are free of any liens or encumbrances.

Consignment Furniture will determine the actual selling price of all item(s). The price will be agreed with the consignor prior to Consignment Furniture offering the item for sale. If, at any time, Consignment Furniture determine that the price of the item(s) should be adjusted the consignor will be consulted prior to any adjustment.

Your agreement with Consignment Furniture lasts for a period of 60-90 days. In the event that your item(s) do not sell within the first 60 days, Consignment Furniture will discount the goods by 15% for the remaining term of the contract in consultation with the vendor. The consignor may retrieve the item(s) at any time during the consignment period with 48 hours notice.

This agreement will expire at the end of the chosen period ie 60 or 90 days from the consigned date. It is then the responsibility of the consignor to pick the item(s) up within 7 days of expiration of the agreement. Unsold items not picked up at the end of the consignment period (+ 7 days) will become the property of Consignment Furniture to dispose of as they see fit.

Consignment Furniture will retain 50% of the article(s) sales price as commission less any other additional fees (see addendum 1). These fees, if any, will be discussed with the consignor prior to Consignment Furniture accepting the article(s) for consignment.

The consignor will receive 50% of the proceeds of the sale (less any additional fees as per item 2 above) once the consigned article is sold. Payment will be made directly into your nominated bank account within 7 days of the sale of the item(s).

Consignment Furniture assumes no liability for loss, damage or destruction of any item on consignment. Consignment Furniture does not insure items on consignment. The item(s) remain the property of the consignor until sold. We advise you to notify your own insurance provider that you have items on consignment to ensure your risks are fully divulged and covered to your own satisfaction.

Additional fees may include:

  • Costs of Refurbishments required to bring the article(s) up to showroom condition eg repairs, re-finishing, re-covering
  • Pick up and delivery costs
  • Storage fees outside of the agreed consignment period

Any additional fees will be discussed and agreed prior to being incurred by the consignor. All and any fees are deducted by Consignment Furniture prior to payment of the sale proceeds to the consignor.
